Happy Graduation!

Well...it happened...my littlest brother graduated from college!  YAY!  So proud of him...he has worked so hard!  We went out the other night to celebrate, and this was the card I made for him...

I saw this card layout somewhere.  And that was my inspiration for this card.  I can't find it now.  I thought it was on Stampin' Up!'s homepage.  I will try to find it and update this post to link back to that creation.  But it's using the "Blue Ribbon" stamp set.  So much fun!  I forget about this set, but it's so fun!  Then I layered the Silver Foil Vellum over the Designer Series Paper .  Such a fun look!

Here are a couple more views...

There is actually a pocket on the inside of the card (to hold money, of course ;-) ).  I just made this by using 12x12 cardstock, cut to 4 1/4" x 12".  Then I scored it at 5 1/2" and 11".  Fold the 11" score line up, so it will be on the inside of the card.  Then secure the side.  This way...you still have a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card with a 1" pocket inside.  Here is a pic of the inside...

I wrote my message on the top note and slide the money in the pocket.  And graduation gift ready to go!  Hope you enjoy!  And cause I know you want to see this college grad (woot! woot!!!), here is a pic of me and my bro...

So proud of him!  Hope this card inspires you to create something today!!!  Let me know if you have any questions!  designwithink@gmail.com

Gorgeous Glitter...

I LOVE some bling on my projects.  A little shimmer makes my heart happy.  Today I'm going to show you a fun technique to add a little glimmer.  So want to make your own Glimmer Glue...in any color?!  Well let's go!  You only need a few supplies...

  • Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
  • Crystal Effects
  • Re-inker in whatever color Glimmer Glue you want (Bermuda Bay used here)
  • Empty Plastic Container (I use an empty accessory container...you could use any piece of plastic that you have.)
  • Stirring Stick
  • Small Paintbrush (not pictured)
Making this Glimmer Glue is so easy.  Add a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds and a couple drops of re-inker (start with 1-2 drops...you can always add more if it's not as dark as you want) to your plastic container.  Mix with your stirring stick.  Add some Crystal Effects and mix that.  It will look like this...

Then just paint on your images wherever you want it! (I couldn't find my paintbrush, so I just "painted" with my stirring stick. (You could also use a sponge dauber for a bigger space if you wanted.)

Then add to your project...

It adds such a fun look!  That little heart is actually a wooden element accessory.  It's so sparkly in real life!

Hope you enjoy!  This was such a fun technique to do! Let me know if you have any questions!  designwithink@gmail.com.

A Pile of Thank You's...Quickly!

The other day I needed a set of thank you cards.  I didn't have a lot of time so they had to be quick.  But of course I wanted them cute!  I saw this card layout on Pinterest awhile back, and remembered it when I was thinking of a card idea.  (I couldn't find the post again, so will try to find it and update this post.)  Here is the card I made...

Washi tape makes this card a breeze.  And love the crisp white card. These are made with the Whisper White set of notecards..  So it's 3.5"x 5" (I believe). These really were so quick to make, and I think pretty dang cute!

Here is a pic of part of the stack of the cards.  They really took barely any time to make!  Who doesn't need a quick and cute card idea?!  (I know I do! So feel free to share any that you have with me!)

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you enjoyed this card!  Let me know if you have any questions! designwithink@gmail.com

Saying Thank You...The Fancy Way!

If you want to thank some one, why not give them some Stampin' Up! product?!  If you give them Stampin' Up! product...why not make it fancy?! Right?!  :-)

I had to make some thank you's.  Sooooo...I figured I will dress them up!!  Here is what I gave... (and I apologize!  I forgot to get a pic of all of them with all the different patterns of paper!  And now they are all given away.  So I am glad I at least have one to show you!)

And here is what is inside...

Would it be fun to receive a package of Baker's Twine?!  Why, I think so!  (I use it ALL the time!)  But would it be SO MUCH MORE fun to receive it like this?!?!  Well...of course I think so there, also.  :-)

I used the Flower Patch stamp set with the coordinating Flower Fair Framelit Dies.  The paper pack I used is the Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper.  This may be a great pack for baby projects, but it is so much more than that!!!  I loved every paper, there are lots of fun geometric patterns perfect to use for every occasion.  Then the actual pouch is an envelope made with the Envelope Punch Board.  I just measured the size of the twine and made a pouch that size.  So easy, quick, and fun!

Here are some more pics...

I hope you enjoy this fun gift!  Let me know if you have any questions.  designwithink@gmail.com

April Club Project...All About Birthday's!

Last week was my club night.  I just shared the card we made in THIS POST.  Today I am going to share the 3D project we made. We made a project like this at a convention and I fell in love.  It's quick, fun, and would make anyone's birthday brighter!  Don't know why it's taken  me so long to share this idea with my clubbers!  Here is the project we made...

The pouch is actually one of the Gift Card Enclosures that are sold in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog.  (We just made an extra score line to make them into this pouch.) Then we combined them with some of the fun birthday products in the Occasions Catalog:  Balloon Bash and Celebrate Today stamp sets, Balloon Framelits,  and Birthday Bash Speciality Designer Series Paper.  Then inside has 3 notecards that look like this:

Simple, clean, and it's a gift that keeps on giving!  The recipient now has three notecards to allow them to spread birthday wishes to their friends!

Hope you enjoy this project!  Thanks so much for visiting!  Let me know if you have any questions!  designwithink@gmail.com.

April Club Card...

This week was my monthly club night!  Whooooo hooooo!  I love club night!  We got to play with some of the fun and cute birthday products that are in the Occasions catalog.  And wowsers!  There are some FUN birthday products!  I'm in LOVE!  Here is the card that we made...

I wanted to do the colors gender neutral, but it was killing me to use Real Red instead of Melon Mambo or Strawberry Slush.  :)  But I think it is quite the fun card and the color combo is very festive.  (Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar, and Pistachio Pudding with Hello Honey accent)  And notice anything extra special?!  Yes, it's a pocket card.  (I LOVE pocket cards!   They are always a little somethin' special and make it easy to add a gift card or anything.)  But anything else?!  ...

Well...the pocket is actually the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die.  So fun, right?!  It makes the perfect sized pocket card and still fits in a regular envelope!  Whoooo!  Here is the inside card...

Super fun, right?!  But seriously...look at those Washi flags...

I think these are incredibly fun and oh so easy to make!  Just wrap Washi around the top of a toothpick (making sure it sticks to itself so it's not sticky on the other side).  Then just cut them into a flag end and you have a super cute Washi flag.  Quick and easy accent.  LOVE!

I just love this card!  Hope you enjoyed it too!  Thanks for visiting!  Let me know if you have any questions! designwithink@gmail.com.

Stampin' Up! Product Treat...

A gift of ribbon?!  Yes, please!  I love ribbon!  And Stampin' Up! has some of the best ribbons I've ever found.  But what is even better than receiving a FREE roll of ribbon?!  A roll of ribbon all wrapped in cute packaging!  Maybe just like this?! ...

This was so quick and easy to do, but so much better than just handing someone a roll of ribbon.  :)  I just put it in a cello, tied with some thick baker's twine.  Then made a cute and quick tag and added that to the front.  So much fun!

Here is just the tag...

This tag is from the "Chalk Talk" Framelits set.  I use this one ALL. THE. TIME.

This was a really quick post tonight, but hope you enjoy!  Thanks so much for visiting!  Let me know if you have any other questions! designwithink@gmail.com

Happy Birthday Treat...

One of my little girls turned 4 a few weeks ago!  Happy Birthday to her!  I love birthdays.  I love the chance to celebrate those I love and make the day special.  I try to really make sure my family knows just how special and loved they are.  My little girl's birthday this year was on a Sunday.  So I wanted to take a little treat for all her little classmates that are in her Primary class.  The only problem...I kinda forgot to do this until midnight the night before.  So whatever I did had to be fairly fast.  (Plus it is for 3 and 4 year olds, so you know it's just going to trash quick.  Haha.  But my sweet girl loves these special touches, so it's totally worth it!) Here is the quick treat I whipped up in like 15 mins or so...

Such an easy and fun little special touch.  I just put a few Starburst candy in a little cello bag, tied it with some fun ribbon, and made a cute (and quick!) tag.

Here are a few more pics...

So festive! And here is my sweet baby girl, on her special day, after gathering up all the balloons that were in her room waiting for her when she woke up...

Hope you enjoy!  Thanks so much for visiting my little blog here.  Let me know if you have any questions!  designwithink@gmail.com

Technique Tuesday With Custom Striped Accents!

One of my assignments on Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team is to do share some fun techniques.  My first one was shared at the end ...
